Introduction

Bhagvad Bhakti (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Bhagvadbhakti Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. This policy covers all versions of our site (English, Hindi, and other languages) at the URL above.

This Privacy Policy also includes a Cookie Policy below to comply with EU/UK requirements for visitors from Europe. We have prepared this policy so that it meets Google AdSense and general data-protection expectations.

Data Controller / Contact Information

Data controller: Bhagvad Bhakti

Contact email: my.bhagvadbhakti@gmail.com
(If you prefer a different contact address, tell us and we will update this page.)

What personal data we collect

We collect information you provide directly and information automatically collected when you visit the site:

a. Data you provide

  • Contact information you give when you contact us (name, email, message).
  • Any content you submit (comments, translations, contributions) — note: do not share sensitive personal data in public comments.

b. Data collected automatically

  • Technical data (IP address, device type, browser, operating system).
  • Usage data (pages visited, time on site, referral source, clicks).
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Cookie Policy below).

We use third-party services (for example Google services) that collect or process some of this data on our behalf; details are in Section 7. Processing and uses are described in Section 4. For how Google and other vendors use data for advertising and measurement, see Section 7.

Why we collect data & legal bases (for EU GDPR visitors)

We collect and use personal data for the following purposes:

  • To operate and maintain the website (render pages, secure the site, prevent fraud). (Legal basis: legitimate interests.)
  • To respond to your requests or messages. (Legal basis: contract/performance or legitimate interest.)
  • To send newsletters or direct messages if you sign up (with your consent where required). (Legal basis: consent.)
  • For analytics and performance improvement (understanding usage patterns; aggregated analytics). (Legal basis: consent or legitimate interests depending on region.)
  • To show relevant ads (personalized or non-personalized ads via advertising partners such as Google AdSense). You can control many ad personalization settings as described in Section 9.

If you are a resident of the EU/EEA, the GDPR gives you rights regarding your personal data — see Section 8 below for details.

How long we keep personal data

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy (for example: contact messages — up to 2 years; analytics — aggregated and retained per service defaults). If applicable law requires longer retention, we will keep data for the required period. We periodically review retention schedules.

How we protect your data

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data (HTTPS, access controls, plugin and site updates). However, no system is perfectly secure — if you suspect a security issue, please contact us immediately at the email above.

Third-party services and sharing (including Google AdSense & Analytics)

We use third-party services that may collect and process personal data:

  • Google AdSense / Google Ads — we display ads on the site and those ad networks may use cookies and identifiers to show relevant ads. We disclose third-party vendors and links to their policies where required. For publishers, Google expects publishers to disclose third-party ad technologies in their privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics (or similar analytics providers) — used to understand site usage and improve content. These services collect device and usage data. You can opt out of Google Analytics as described in Section 9.
  • Other plug-ins or providers (comment systems, social widgets, CDN, payment or donation providers) — each may collect user data under their own policies.

We do not sell personal information for money. If we share data with service providers, we require them to protect data and use it only for the contracted purpose.

Your privacy rights — EU (GDPR) & US (CCPA) visitors

GDPR (EU/EEA residents)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights including: the right to access personal data we hold about you, the right to correct inaccurate data, the right to request deletion (subject to legal exceptions), the right to restriction of processing, and the right to data portability. You may also object to certain processing (including profiling/personalized advertising) where applicable. To exercise these rights, contact us at my.bhagvadbhakti@gmail.com. Guidance on GDPR rights and what a privacy notice must include is available from EU authorities.

CCPA / CPRA (California residents)

California residents have rights including: the right to know categories of personal information collected, to request access to the specific pieces of personal information, to request deletion, to opt-out of sale/sharing of personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights. If you are a California resident and wish to exercise these rights, contact us at my.bhagvadbhakti@gmail.com and include “CCPA Request” in the subject. More details on CCPA/CPRA rights are available from the California Attorney General’s office.

When we receive a verifiable request, we will verify your identity before taking action and comply within applicable timeframes.

Cookie Policy & choices (EU / UK visitors)

Because many visitors come from Europe, we explain cookies and consent clearly.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device to store information. They are used for essential site functions, preferences, analytics, and advertising.

Types of cookies we use (examples):

  • Essential cookies — required for site security, login, and basic functionality (no consent required).
  • Preference cookies — remember language and display preferences.
  • Analytics cookies — used to understand visitor behavior (for example Google Analytics). These generally require consent from EU/UK visitors.
  • Advertising cookies — used by ad networks to deliver personalized or non-personalized ads (e.g., cookies placed by Google/AdSense). Consent is typically required for advertising cookies in the EU/UK.

Cookie consent / how we obtain consent

For visitors in the EU/UK we show a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Essential cookies are necessary for the website to function and will be placed regardless. Consent must be active and informed for non-essential cookies according to EU/UK guidance.

How to manage or disable cookies

  • You can change or withdraw consent in the cookie banner or the cookie settings link on our site.
  • You can manage cookies via your browser settings (delete existing cookies or block new cookies). See your browser help pages for details.
  • To opt out of certain third-party analytics (Google Analytics) or advertising personalization, you can use provider opt-out tools (for example, Google’s ad personalization controls and analytics opt-out tools). Please check the third-party provider pages for the exact opt-out steps.

Children’s privacy

Our site is not directed to children under 13 (or the local age of consent). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent believes we have collected personal data of a child, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

Our services, and the third parties we use, may transfer personal data across international borders (for example to servers in the United States). Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses, etc.) to protect your data.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. The effective date at the top will change when we post a new version. Substantial changes affecting rights will be highlighted on the site.
